Pumpkin Hatters?

After a long dry spell five of us actually got together again for some silly Red Hat fun. Doesn't Duchess d' Da look just lovely in her new hat?

If you've missed seeing all of your Pip Chick sisters hopefully you can join us next month, November 8th, when we meet for dinner at Si Casa Flores. See you there at 5:00 sharp! Well, at least I'll try to be on time this time!

Red & Pink Lampshade~Hatters

What a fun and wacky time we had at Sanna Babee/Sandy's house. She and Lady Rhinotush/Jeanine hosted a birthday luncheon for themselves. Hmmm. That's quite a tradition we have going in our group!

Before we ate we took lots and lots of pictures of ourselves. So many, in fact, Princess Pretty Patty Purple Pip/Pat commented that she had never had her picture taken as much as she has since joining Red Hats! I guess girls just wanna have proof they had fun!

We also played a few games led by Lady Rosebudd/Rose and laughed ourselves silly. Then, since everyone had put so much effort into their lampshades, we had a drawing rather than vote for the winners of the prizes Sanna Babee and Lady Rhinotush had provided for the three best lampshades. The Duchess of Wild Fern/Nancy, Lady Leilani/Linda, and Princess Pretty Patty Purple Pip were the lucky winners.

Thanks, Sanna Babee and Lady Rhinotush, for letting all of us Pip Chicks into your home and letting us be our crazy selves!

P.S. As always, if you have any pictures to add, please do!

{It looks like something magical is being planned for next month.... Stay tuned....}

2007 Sweetheart Convention

For those of you who missed this year's convention, start saving your pennies for 2008! It was a blast! What a bunch of wacky, fun women! Some of the faces above you will recognize, some are the faces of new friends, and some faces are missing. I will be posting those as soon as I get more pictures from other Pips who were there and I'll tell you a bit more about the convention...

Aren't We Lucky?

It just so happens that our monthly fun'tion this month falls on National Dessert Day! And...it is Lady Prima Donna's actual birthday! Both of which occasions call for cake. So...

We will be meeting at 1:30, Saturday, October 14th, at the White Horse Coffee & Tea Company, 986 E Central Ave., Sutherlin (They are also in the phone book as 960 E Central Ave., Sutherlin. Probably because it occupies two buildings.)

As usual, a card, verse, or poem for our (pink) birthday Pip would be a nice gesture of friendship. And don't forget your kazoo!

See you Saturday,
Queen Debbee

P.S. Lady Rosebudd has offered to host our November meeting. More on that later.

Please be thinking of a month that you might volunteer to host or co-host... December and January are open. February is the Red & Purple "Sweet Heart" Convention at Seven Feathers.

Picnic time for Teddy Bears (and Pip Chicks)

We had a teensie bit of rain the morning of our picnic, but not enough to ruin our time together. In fact, once the clouds rolled away, it was an absolutely beautiful day with a hint of fall in the air. I just love this time of year! "Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." ~ Albert Camus

We not only had great weather, we had great fun just visiting, catching up on summer vacation news, making plans for future fun'tions, and, of course, eating! (Lady Leilani shared chocolates and stories from her trip to Germany and Lady Prima Donna brought photos of her trip to Hawaii.)

Our newest Pip, Melinda Buhn, picked her Red Hat name, and will now be known as Duchess D'da. The other Pips at the picnic were Lady Rosebudd and myself, Queen Debbee.

The Teddy Bears had a great time as well and a few have expressed an interest in either joining our Red Hat chapter or starting their own.
